Algarve Wine Commission (CVA) strengthens promotion of the region’s wines with strategic agenda for 2025
21/02/2025The CVA is stepping up its presence at the sector’s main national and international events, consolidating the reputation of Algarve wines and positioning the region as a leading wine destination. With an ambitious promotional calendar for 2025, the CVA is committed to enhancing the identity and quality of Algarve wines through fairs, training and strategic initiatives that boost the sector.
The agenda has already kicked off with participation in major events and promises new opportunities to highlight the Wines of the Algarve to professionals and consumers. Upcoming events include training at the Portimão School of Hospitality and Tourism on 25 February, which aims to promote knowledge and appreciation of Algarve wines among students and catering professionals. On the same days, the CVA is hosting an entourage from the Associação de Escanções de Portugal for an immersive experience in the region, reinforcing the recognition of Algarve wines in the hotel and catering sector.
Attendance at international events is also a strong focus, with participation at FINE – Wine Tourism Expo in Valladolid (4 and 5 March), one of the most important European fairs dedicated to wine tourism. In April, the Algarve will be promoted as a destination for differentiated wine experiences at a fair dedicated to the sector. In the same month, the Algarve Wine Competition will take place, honouring the quality and innovation of regional production.
Summer will bring the presentation of the 2025 editions of ‘Entre Pratos e Vinhos’ and the ‘Algarve Wine Session’, initiatives that bring gastronomy and wine together to promote the Algarve’s catering and wine identity. In August, the CVA will be present at FATACIL, in partnership with Lagoa Town Hall, on a platform of great visibility for regional wines.
The internationalisation of Algarve wines is also gaining momentum, with a fact-finding mission to importers from the UK, Switzerland and the Netherlands in October, with the aim of expanding the region’s presence in these markets. In the same month, the Algarve Wine Session, on the 13th, brings together professionals and connoisseurs, reinforcing the region’s position on the national wine scene. Between October 15 and November 30, the ‘Entre Pratos e Vinhos’ campaign encourages pairing wines with regional dishes in selected restaurants, promoting wine tourism and Algarve gastronomy.
With this dynamic agenda, the Algarve Wine Commission reaffirms its commitment to promoting the quality and authenticity of the region’s wines, consolidating its position inside and outside Portugal.
